i’ve tried both the open dns and google dns numbers above but neither is working. i can’t connect at all.

You need to log into your router account to change the DNS servers.

Just want to say this worked excellent beyond belief. Recently got Comcast, and did notice the DNS was horrifically slow. Modified these DNS settings in my router, and in 15sec I was surfing the way cable is suppose to be.

Try Google’s DNS service… the upside is enhanced resistance to DNS poisoning:

8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

I know this is old, but here in Chicago, OpenDNS is performing about 10ms better than the ATT servers.
