right click the install button of the extension
copy link address
open notepad
paste
you get an address looking like:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom?hc=search&hcp=main#
you copy the funny stuff:
gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom

then you paste it into an address of this type:

https://clients2.google.com/service/update2/crx?response=redirect&x=id%3Dgighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom%26uc%26lang%3Den-US

(that is, between %3D and %26uc%26lang%3Den-US)

this new address you paste into address bar of internet explorer, and download.

then follow instruction of this post.

Now when I copy the address into Internet Explorer, it tells me I should do it from Chrome! only addresss that worked was for the financial time extension, with following address (see below).
