utorrent 2.0 update broke webui

Postby utorrenter » Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:55 pm

Looks like my uTorrent updated itself to version 2.0 today. Now I am having problems connecting to the web interface. When I connect to localhost:8081, all I see is the little "loading" arrow spinning in the middle of the page. It's frustrating I run utorrent on another computer and use the WebUI as my main interface. I wish the update didn't happen automatically. Anyone else seeing this problem?

You need to manually update WebUI to the latest version.

As well, do note that µTorrent 2.0 is no longer compatible with old versions of WebUI, so users who have upgraded to µTorrent 2.0 must also upgrade WebUI to v0.370.

1. Download the file from here. (direct link)
2. Rename the file to webui.zip
3. Copy the file to the uTorrent AppData directory. On Windows, it's probably at C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application Data\utorrent. Another way to find this directory is to go to Start->Run and type: "%AppData%/utorrent".
4. Restart uTorrent.

Also, after doing the above, be sure to hit "ESC" while in the WebUI interface to reset it. Otherwise things will look fishy.

I have been experiencing this as well. Before upgrading to the latest webui, I did not even see the never ending loading icon, instead just an error page, since the upgrade, I now am only able to get the 'invalid request' error like you would normally see using the wrong url.

trying to connect to this address http://localhost:port/gui

ports are forwarded properly and all was working fine before utorr 2.0. did follow all instructions to a tee, Any ideas why I might still be having issues?
