Yay, Shark Tank is back on ABC!

I’ve written about the show Shark Tank before.  It’s a show where inventors & business owners pitch their idea to a group of investors who then choose whether or not to fund the invest in their company.

From what I understand, Shark Tank is based on the UK’s Dragons’ Den, a show with largely the same premise, which is in turn based on a Japanese TV show.  According to Wikipedia, there are many, many shows in the Dragons’ Den franchise. I’ve only seen the UK and US versions.

These shows are a must-watch for any entrepreneur, investor, or inventor. This year they’ve added entrepreneur & Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, a guy I’ve liked since his broadcast.com days, so it’s even more fun to watch this year.

I like to track down the patents that each inventor on the show claims to hold.  This week, I found the Power Stays patent, and learned that the wine guy may or may not actually have the patent he claims to have.

In any event, it’s a very interesting and entertaining show.  If you’re someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, I recommend that you check it out.
