How to stop Windows XP from popping up a “Camera Connected” Dialog when connecting your iPhone

I love my Apple iPhone. Seriously. L-O-V-E.

I’m not an Apple zealot or anything. In fact, I use Windows XP for my day-to-day computing tasks such as reading email, browsing the internet, writing letters, yadda yadda yadda. The iPhone works great with Windows, except for one little (very) annoyong thing - each time I connect my iPhone, Windows pops up a dialog box asking me which program I want to use to interface with my “Camera”

Look Familiar?

Fortunately, it’s not hard to stop XP from doing that. Just follow these steps:

1) Connect your iPhone.
2) Go to Start->My Computer
3) Right-click on “Apple iPhone” and select “Properties”
4) Click the “Events” tab.
5) Choose “Camera Connected” from the drop down box
6) Choose the “Take no action” radio button
7) Click “OK” to save your changes

Viola, no more annoying Windows dialog box.
